StoryBlock is an oral history and visual community archive that celebrates the cultural richness of Kelly Street residents living in the Longwood section of the South Bronx.
This project was commissioned by The Laundromat Project’s Create Change Program.
StoryBlock is collaboration between Sasha Phyars-Burgess and Alison Hall Kibbe inspired by the powerful people and stories that we met while working in partnership with the Kelly Street Garden in 2014 as Create Change Fellows with The Laundromat Project. We wanted to keep learning and to celebrate the history and power that lives on Kelly Street and in the surrounding community.
